Endangered Species Condoms

Rare Good Coverage of Human Overpopulation

Wall of Fame honors all around for news coverage that tells the public what it needs to know about human overpopulation.

Zoo’s Condom Giveaway Brings Awareness to Endangered Species

Okay, maybe I should leave out the headline writer, as this headline should have read:

Zoo’s Condom Giveaway Brings Awareness to Human Overpopulation

Still, this excellent coverage by WTTW’s Alex Ruppenthal in Chicago does exactly what the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Center for Biological Diversity hoped would happen, as part of this summer’s “Pillow Talk” campaign. Read all about it. Bravo to the Zoo, the Center, Alex Ruppenthal and WTTW. The campaign is gaining media coverage of the population problem in places as far and wide as the progressive Common Dreams and the conservative Daily Caller (which notably didn’t offer criticism). After all, safe sex and addressing human overpopulation seriously ought to be apolitical.

Of course, the Center for Biological Diversity is exemplary in its communication about human overpopulation’s role in accelerating extinction of other species. I’m a huge fan of the Center’s Endangered Species Condoms program.
